I was watching the BBC's US election coverage right through till the victory speech, and I do believe it was the most fantastic and fantastical thing I have ever seen on news television. Gore Vidal was the high point, but I also enjoyed that Republican Broughton guy who got more and more apoplectic as the night went on, and the general air of jollity in the studio.

The live interviews were great too: my third favourite moment, after Vidal and the Broughton meltdown, was when a reporter was interviewing some voters in Florida or somewhere: the interviewees used the word historic about ten times in four seconds, and the BBC interviewer scratched his temple and asked, "So, d'you think it's historic, then?" I LOL'd.

I had heard some of Liam's songs when he was still with Betchadupa; I like his solo stuff more, but I wouldn't say that I <i>love</i> it. I saw a video of him on Letterman (I think) where he sand and played keyboards and drummed a bit too. I was certainly impressed.

No, I hadn't noticed it before either! Quite strange - maybe its lushness is just more obvious with both brothers together? I've been trying to decide which I like best; Neil's hair is probably the more multi-directional, but Tim has that tousled curly haired thing happening. Tricky. And magnificent, obviously.

Liam's obviously inherited the Finn hair genes, in an...unkempt sort of a way! What do you think of his music? I only heard it recently but am quite impressed. Might try and catch him on tour later in the year (OK, I just wrote 'hair' instead of 'year'. I'm clearly obsessed). Apparently he leaps around stage playing all the instruments himself. Fun!

I had never noticed the hair before! It certainly is very lush and multidirectional. Have you seen Liam, Neil's son? He has quite abundant hair also, both on top and on bottom of his face.

Well if all the comments on the SFU finale are anything to go by, it should certainly be worth waiting for! I think you're right about American Beauty, I've heard nothing but good things about it from people who have more memory of it than I do... Will definitely have to watch it again after SFU.

You've reminded me that while I watched a lot of 6FU, due to stupid Channel 9's scheduling, I never watched the finale. Will have to go look for it.

I loved American Beauty as well, and still enjoy periodically re-watching it. It's worth another go.

Thanks Daniel - I did some browsing outside Wordpress and found a couple of decent tutorials on use of themes and template tags, so I think I'm more or less sorted now. I do find the lack of proper organization of the Codex very frustrating, though, particularly when in reality using template tags is quite simple, if you can find the info in the first place. Looking at the Codex, with its links leading to pages of links, always makes me want to tear my hair out.

Thanks again for the advice, will browse the Template Tags page for anything I've missed.
